Welcome to Ontario's Municipal Accessibility Toolkit Website!
The site has been established by AMCTO - the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks & Treasurers of Ontario - with financial support from the Ministry of Community & Social Services to help the municipal sector meet its responsibilities under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. The most immediate requirement is to implement the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, Ontario Regulation 429/07. This must be done by January 1, 2010, and is the current focus of the website. The website will be expanded as other standards are issued. The website is maintained with the help of AMCTO's
Municipal Accessibility Working Group. We welcome
suggestions for additions to the site.
